Emily Leonick

To make things short, I’m a writer who asks a lot of questions.

To make things long…

I’ve been a Game Writer and Producer for the last two years. Before that, I spent five years as a Content Marketer and Strategist across several tech sectors (which makes me the studio go-to for patch notes). I’ve also been a Freelance Writer since college and have ghostwritten novels, scripts, and many social media posts. I’ve done it all. It’s been a great exercise in learning how to fit whatever information needs to be shared into any style or word count.

Outside of writing, I’ve made a space for myself as a Lore expert on the games I work on. Not sure what the relationship between characters is? Was there a story about that old statue in the world? I’m the person to ask. If I don’t know, I’ll start researching until I do. I do it as a player, so it was a natural progression as a Narrative Producer. When it comes to stories, consistency is key.

As far as I’m concerned, project management is a way of life. I run my personal life and projects using Notion, and have used Jira (and its live-service counterpart) JaaS in most of my past positions as an informal workflow manager. As a personal goal, I always work to improve and update team documentation (almost always on Confluence) to leave things better than I found them.

When I’m not working, I can most often be found in a bookstore, playing D&D, or hanging out with my dogs (pictures included below for dog tax). If you check my Steam activity, you’re most likely to see RPGs (most likely the Mass Effect series) or Farming Sim games.
